The aim of the project is to create an open and replenishable database of books. The resources are aimed at consolidating and systematizing information on book design, including all modern developments in this area. In the daily practical work of a designer, the prototype library is a useful design choice tool for a design book. From a global perspective, the project serves to develop the bookwork.

The prototype library began to be developed in the course of Eugenia Corneve’s educational course on the creation of a book. The project was based on a textbook, «Vom Blatt zum Blättern», published by Verlag Hermann Schmidt, which offers a classification of a modern book and details the design features of each design that can be manufactured on an industrial scale today. Only objects that go beyond the textbook «Vom Blatt zum Blättern», which is beyond what we already know about the book, can enter the collection. The proposed object should have new qualities: to open up new possibilities to the reader when working with the book, to give new feelings and emotions, and to have high aesthetic characteristics. Simple objects containing one understandable project idea, preferably of a typological nature, are welcomed.

The protein is oriented towards the industrial production of the book, and the object should have a chance to be produced by the industrial one. If the necessary industrial technology does not exist, it must be proposed and described.
