Skyft’s name conceals the ironic word game, which is translated from Danish as a «swipe» rhymes with the word «shrift». The shapes of the font are inspired by the plasticism of the Land Art, in particular the work of Martin Hill, where the artist creates ephemeral changes in the natural environment. As in the Land Art, each letter of the font becomes an act of transformation, exploring the line between the existing form and interference in it.
